Kevin McCarthy serves as executive vice president and executive creative director at Swirl. In this role, he has led numerous campaigns for Swirl's clients, including Soy Vay's "A Pollo '13" initiative, which sent a Soy Vay bottle-shaped space cooking capsule into space, successfully cooking a marinated chicken at over 100,000 feet above the earth and throwing a party when it landed. As a result, over 22,000 samples were tasted, over 40 million impressions were garnered and the campaign yielded a 61 percent lift in brand recognition. Kevin's successes with eBay include "The Road Home" initiative for Veterans Day. He and his team were instrumental in executing an impactful program, which included a partnership with West Coast Customs to honor four veterans with one-of-a-kind cars. The partnership aired on West Coast Customs' Veterans Day episode, which garnered 30 million viewers and generated 1.2 million new profiles created on eBay Garage.

Kevin believes in conceptualizing across all media and involving a diverse range of talents in the process. With over 20 years of experience, his depth of major-agency experience, breadth of work for a diverse group of clients and exceptional leadership inspire his team and their work.

Prior to joining Swirl in 2012, Kevin served as creative director at Young & Rubicam's California office and also served as the executive creative director of Grey Worldwide, San Francisco. There, he was responsible for successfully integrating Grey Advertising San Francisco, Grey Interactive and Grey Direct into one unified creative group. Kevin's earlier experience includes cofounding a.k.a. Euro RSCG, a place where a new breed of creativity could thrive and a diversity of talents would converge in new and unexpected ways. The success of this new type of agency was also recognized by a.k.a.'s parent company, Euro RSCG, who selected a.k.a. from among Euro's West Coast roster of agencies to serve as Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer's flagship San Francisco office. Kevin was named partner and chief creative officer. Kevin is a recipient of several awards, including the Andy Award, One Show Award, Cannes Lion Award, D&AD Award and Communication Arts Advertising Award. A San Francisco native, Kevin lives in Fairfax with his wife and kids Calvin, Maddy and Cooper. An outdoor enthusiast, Kevin enjoys motorcycle racing, mountain biking and snowboarding.
