How often can you say you walked through a breathtaking national forest and former military base on the way to work? Not enough? Never? We decided it was time to take action and resolve this tragic commute realization.
On Thursday, April 7, we celebrated #NationalWalkToWorkDay by encouraging our Swirlies to take advantage of the beautiful spring weather and ditch the wheels for a day. Doing good for the environment AND hitting 10,000 steps before noon? Talk about a win-win!
While the endorphins from the exercise and amazing Presidio views were enough of a reason to lace up, we really wanted to reward the ones who went all in.
We encouraged our Swirlies to post a picture of their walk and tag #swirlsf for a chance to win a prize at our all-agency meeting. The lucky winner was Bridgette Myers, who not only walked to work this morning, she does it every morning! Special shout out to Kirstie Chapman, Kathleen Mish, and Michael Williams for going green and also participating in National Walk to Work Day! You’re all winners in Mother Nature’s (and our) eyes!
